About Sonic Math Facts

About the Project

Each year SONIC Drive-In’s provides more than 35,000 packs of multiplication flashcards to Middle Tennessee 3rd graders. SONIC generously donates the cards, and Hotline packs and distributes them to school districts with the help of volunteers. Students and teachers across the mid-state look forward to the distribution because the packs are a tremendous resource to schools. Making the contribution an even sweeter one for students, each pack contains coupons for SONIC treats.

About the Impact

With 70 percent of Tennessee students below grade level in math, it is clear that more support is needed. Automaticity in math, or math fact fluency, is an important part of math learning. It allows students to easily recall basic math facts from memory. Tools, such as multiplication flashcards, help students practice basic math facts. Being able to recall multiplication facts quickly is key to ongoing success as math content becomes increasingly difficult year after year. Read more about the project here.
